Don’t Sleep on VRT: The Infrastructure Stock Quietly Dominating the Next Tech Supercycle

The AI boom is running into a brick wall—and that wall is power.

Data centers are ballooning to keep up with demand, but the electric grid wasn’t built to handle a tsunami of power-hungry GPUs. Nvidia can sell you the chips. Microsoft and Amazon can rent you the cloud. But the company that can power and cool those server rooms?

That’s the bottleneck. And that’s where Vertiv Holdings (NASDAQ: VRT) steps in.

Vertiv is already a $49B infrastructure titan—supplying uninterruptible power supplies, cooling systems, racks, and more to the world’s biggest data centers. But today, it made its boldest move yet: announcing a partnership with Oklo, the Bill Gates-backed nuclear startup building compact liquid metal reactors to power the next generation of infrastructure.

In simple terms: Vertiv is betting that nuclear-powered, thermally optimized AI data centers are the future—and they want to build them from the ground up.

This isn’t science fiction. This is about turning reactor heat into liquid cooling for server racks. About building energy-resilient AI campuses in the U.S. where grid constraints are already slowing down growth. And if they pull it off, Vertiv could become the backbone of AI infrastructure—not just a supplier, but the kingmaker.
